New Superbowl Dog!!

Who is that new Superbowl Pup?!

Super Bowl commercials are on the way, and this year’s group will be featuring several star quality dogs. The Volkswagen Company achieved major success with last year’s Super Bowl commercial, which featured little Darth Vader and his use of the Force to start the engine of a Volkswagen Passat. Therefore, Volkswagen’s ad company, Deutsch LA, was under pressure to produce a clever commercial for this year’s event.

Deutsch wisely hired Bolt, an Australian shepherd and St. Bernard mix, to promote the car company. The commercial begins with the overweight dog too embarrassed by his heft to attempt chasing Volkswagen’s new Beetle, so the chubby puppy decides to commence with a workout program. Ad executives have likened the three-year-old dog’s weight loss battle to a Jedi mission as Bolt works to become worthy of the new car. Additionally, viewers should keep an eye out for a surprise ending to this great commercial sequel.

The Anheuser Busch Company has filmed two spots featuring dogs this year. One commercial stars the beer company’s iconic Dalmatian while the other spot introduces viewers to Weego, a mangy mutt, who is trained to bring a bottle of beer when he hears the phrase “Here, Weego,” which is a play on the Bud Light phrase “Here We Go.”

A French bulldog named Mr. Quiggly has replaced Kim Kardashian as the celebrity selling Skechers this year. For the spot, Mr. Quiggly is wearing sneakers from Skechers GOrun line and enters a greyhound race. The company is facing protests by greyhound advocacy groups, but the company’s president, Leonard Armato, issued a statement in response saying “We believe he’ll be the most lovable dog on the Super Bowl.”

The Super Bowl features the best commercials each year, and viewers who have a soft spot for dogs will enjoy their abundant presence during this year’s game.
